MUN means “Model United Nations” and stands for an educational and academic simulation of diplomatic decision making.
Each participant (“Delegate”) represents a country in the Committee they’re attending, and they have to debate and find solutions in the way the country they are representing would do. At each conference are different Committees like Human Rights Council (HRC) or Security Council (SC), where different topics will be discussed. Each participant can choose where to delegate.
During a MUN Conference, students learn and acquire a wealth of knowledge about negotiation, diplomacy, international relations, the United Nations, and important worldwide topics. MUN teaches its participants researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, cultural empathy, and teamwork.
During the conferences, you’ll make new connections and friends around the world and other universities, and learn a lot about the way and system from international Organizations.
