Topic A of UNSC Study Guide

Case Studies for Topic B (Delegates’ Choice) coming soon. We apologise for the delay.

Under the UN Charter, the Security Council is responsible for the maintenance of international peace and security. It is comprised of 15 members, and each member has one vote. The Security Council is the only organ that may impose sanctions or authorise the use of force to maintain or restore international peace and security.

As a special feature, our UNSC’s agenda will not be predetermined by the Secretariat. Instead, delegates will agree on an agenda among themselves at the very beginning of the conference. This way, delegates will be able to discuss even the most recent developments in global politics and diplomacy.
